BRADFORD Council has been forced to close all of its tips today due to the chaos being caused by heavy snow across the district.
All the Council's Household Waste Recycling Centres are shut to the public today after the deluge of snow this morning, which is causing chaos on the roads with treacherous driving conditions.
Bradford Council said: "Unfortunately we have had to close all the Household Waste Recycling Centres today due to the snow as we cannot guarantee the safety of anyone visiting.
"We apologise if this causes anyone any problems."
The Council has tips at the following locaitons, with all closed today:
- Bowling Back Lane
- Dealburn Road, Low Moor
- Dowley Gap, Wagon Lane, Bingley
- Ford Hill, Queensbury
- Golden Butts Road, Ilkley
- Midland Road, Bradford
- Royd Ings Avenue, Keighley
- Sugden End, Keighley
There has been carnage on the motorways, bus routes affected, bin collections cancelled and more than 150 schools closed by the snow.
But it has provided stunning winter scenes across the district, with a blanket of heavy snow inches thick now covering Bradford.
