It’s no secret that Bradford is home to some impressive sporting talent.

From cricketing legends, to football stars, locals from the region have some seriously impressive sporting accolades behind their name.

We have already looked at some of the biggest stars to come from the city- but there are still many more to mention.

Here are five sports stars that hail from Bradford:

Fabian Delph

Fabian Delph is a talented professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder and defender for Everton and the England national team.

Currently, he has 20 caps under his belt.

Delph attended Bradford’s Tong Leadership Academy between 2001 and 2006 before finding international fame in football.

Adil Rashid

Bradford has produced plenty of top-quality cricketers, Adil Rashid included.

Adil plays for both Yorkshire and the England team and is a skilled leg spinner.

Rashid was even part of the legendary England squad that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

He first played for England in 2009 in the World T20 but really found his stride in the national team in 2015.

Mason Greenwood

Mason, from Wibsey, is a talented football player with plenty of achievements to his name.

Currently, he plays as a forward for Premier League club, Manchester United.

At the tender age of 19, he already has one senior cap with a strong footballing future ahead of him.

He was scouted by Old Trafford academy coaches, often playing in groups that were much older than him.

Ben Westwood

Westwood is a former rugby league player who represented the England national team.

He was even part of the England squad for the 2008 and 2013 Rugby League World Cup.

During his career, he has also played for smaller clubs such as the Warrington Wolves.

Jonny Bairstow

This talented cricket player plays for both the Yorkshire and England team.

He has plenty of records and achievements under his belt, including becoming the only Yorkshire cricketer to score more than 1000 runs in a domestic season (2011)

He was also part of the 2019 World Cup Winning team.
