THE Yorkshire Cricket College have introduced an exciting new course, available from September 2021.

The Level 3 BTEC In Business qualification aims to provide students aged 16-18 with an in-depth understanding of the operations and structures of businesses and equip students with the skills required to succeed in employment or at university.

Students will study a range of units across the two year course, including Event Management, International Business and Digital Marketing.

Upon course completion, learners will receive a qualification which is equivalent to three A-levels.

Based at Emerald Headingley Stadium, students will study in purpose-built classrooms and facilities overlooking the iconic stadium.

Learners will enjoy small class sizes, creating a perfect learning environment for students to thrive.

Alongside the academic studies, opportunities will be readily available to represent the Yorkshire Cricket College through practical led cricket sessions.

This will allow learners to have a unique and innovative learning experience and fulfil their passion for both business and cricket.

The Foundation are passionate about enhancing employability skills and students will have numerous opportunities to gain practical experience within a number of departments across Yorkshire County Cricket Club, The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and related partner networks.

These opportunities include match-day support, media and communications, hospitality and finance, thus allowing students to gain practical experience within an elite sport setting and identify pathways to achieve their career goals.

Learners will also have the opportunity to hear from and engage with industry leading figures in the world of business, event management and marketing through guest speakers.

The Level 3 BTEC In Business is the second course offering from the Yorkshire Cricket College.

Since 2017, learners have progressed through the NCFE in Sport qualification, which allows students to develop their cricket skills alongside theoretical sporting modules.

Nick Robinson, Education Manager at The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation said: “We are incredibly excited to be offering the new Level 3 BTEC in Business at the Yorkshire Cricket College.

“We have had great success delivering the NCFE in Sport, achieving a 100 per cent pass rate since beginning the programme and now is the right time to introduce another strand to our educational offer.

“Achieving a level 3 BTEC in Business offers young people a diverse range of exit routes after graduating.

“One of our primary goals will be to shine a light on these options by using the networks inside Yorkshire Cricket to demonstrate the opportunities both in a professional sporting environment and the wider world.

“With progression routes including university, apprenticeships, or moving straight into a career within relevant sectors, the business BTEC will provide a great springboard for future prosperity.”
