WITH exercise being one of the few reasons we're allowed to leave the house, this lockdown is seeing more people dig out their running shoes once again.

Restrictions on leaving home have seen more people get active and turn to running to get fresh air, exercise and a change of scenery from the same four walls day in, day out.

Bradford has more than 20 parks dotted around the city and surrounding towns and villages, each offering a unique setting and challenges to runners and joggers.

Some have long loops ideal for 10k and other long distance efforts, while others are much shorter and are perfect for beginners or for workouts and time trials.

But all offer a peaceful green space away from Bradford's busy roads, with less obstacles, cleaner air and much more scenic surroundings.

Here is an interactive map with all of Bradford's parks and the different challenges they pose to runners:

Some of the parks have tarmac or stone paths, while some are more dirt tracks, so the correct footwear is always essential before setting out on a run to avoid any slips or falls.

Dressing for the conditions is also key to ensure you aren't too cold, but also so you don't overheat.

Current lockdown restrictions only permit leaving the house for certain reasons, one of which is to get daily exercise.

The guidance tells people to stay as close to home as possible for exercising, and people can only meet up with one other person from a different household to exercise - and social distancing must be maintained throughout.
