THERE have been three new reported deaths from coronavirus in hospitals in the Bradford district.

NHS England announced in today's update (Sunday, January 10) that there were three further deaths reported from the Covid-19 virus at hospitals in the district.

It comes after there was one new death reported yesterday at hospitals in the Bradford district.

All three deaths reported today were at Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI).

They happened on Friday, January 8.

There were no further deaths at Airedale General Hospital and Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

The total death toll at hospitals in the Bradford district now stands at 659 - 468 at BRI, 189 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

NHS England announced 45 patients at hospitals in the North East and Yorkshire who tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) have died.

Of those, 30 were reported at hospitals in Yorkshire and the Humber.

Seven of those were in West Yorkshire - four at the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Pontefract Hospital, Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield, Dewsbury and District Hospital and community health services in Wakefield, and three at BRI.

One was in North Yorkshire and the City of York - it happened at the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Four were in the East Riding of Yorkshire - all four at the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

The final 18 were in South Yorkshire - five at each of Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, with three at the Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundations Trust.

There were an extra 508 deaths reported today across England, taking the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in the country to 55,580.

Patients in today's update were aged between 24 and 103-years-old. 

All except 22 (aged 40 to 93-years-old) had known underlying health conditions.

The dates of the deaths ranges from Thursday, December 17, 2020 to Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Their families have been informed.
