A BRADFORD doctor says the vaccine is the only way out of the Covid crisis as he says he hopes for a supply for his practise later today.

Dr Amir Khan has welcomed the Army being drafted in by the Government to accelerate the number of people receiving either of the two approved vaccines.

Work is under way to build a vaccination centre at Jacob’s Well car park in Bradford – one of four new sites in West Yorkshire.

Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine today, Dr Khan, who had a first dose of the Covid jab last month, said: “It’s great news that the military have been drafted in.

“We are hoping to get another order of the vaccine delivered today. We were supposed to get one on Monday, but we didn’t.

“I hope this rollout goes more smoothly and we can make a dent in this pandemic.

“The patients that are coming in for the jab are so grateful and so excited.

“We are seeing lots of people coming forward for it.

“There is still a cohort of people who still have concerns and certain groups of people who feel like they have been left behind, such as ethnic minority groups.

“I have been fine since I had my first jab.

“The vaccine is the only way out. The only way it is going to work is to battle against the misinformation.”
