SHOCKED residents were awoken by a police helicopter in the early hours of this morning, claiming it sounded as if it was going to land on their houses.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the force was called to reports of males "acting suspiciously" at 3.37am on Woodside Crescent, in the Cottingley area of Bradford.
Officers rushed to the area and the NPAS (National Police Air Service) helicopter was deployed to help with the search.
A local resident posted about the police presence on a Facebook community page this morning, a few hours after the search.
Many people responded to say the helicopter had woken them up in the early hours, with some claiming it sounded as if it was going to land on their roof or house.
The West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said officers and the NPAS helicopter carried out a search "to no gain".
Just a few streets away, there was a separate incident later that morning.
Two vehicles were stolen from a property in a burglary, but they have since been recovered by police.
