THREE further Covid-19-related hospital deaths have been reported today in Bradford.

According to the latest NHS figures, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust reported two, while Airedale NHS Foundation Trust reported one.

One patient died at Bradford on Monday, January 4 and the other on Sunday, January 3. The one death at Airedale was also reported on January 4.

It means the total number of reported hospital deaths in the Bradford district, according to the latest NHS figures, now stands at 654 - 464 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, 188 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Elsewhere in West Yorkshire, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust reported one death, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust reported seven deaths and Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust had nine deaths  

Nationally, the deaths of 582 people were announced, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 52,395.

Patients were aged between 29 and 103 years old. All except twenty-five (aged 56 to 101 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from November 5, 2020 to January 4, 2021 with the majority being on or after January 1.

The figures are updated at 2pm each day and include confirmed death cases reported at 4pm the previous day.

NHS England says: "Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification, death certificates and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure.

"This means that the totals reported at 4pm on each day may not include all deaths that occurred on that day or on recent prior days."
