A CAR park in Bradford city centre has been selected as a potential Covid-19 vaccination centre location.

The Jacob's Well car park has been closed off and white tents have been put up.

A notice says parking is suspended until further notice.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

A spokesperson for Bradford Council said: "The central Bradford car park at Jacob’s Well has closed for a temporary change of use.

"The site has been selected as a potential Covid-19 vaccination centre location. Temporary buildings will be located on the site where staff will dispense the vaccine.

"We do not currently have a start date for the vaccination centre.

"Only those people who have been invited by letter or by a message from their GP practice should turn up for vaccination. It is not available for everyone as yet."

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Healthy People and Places said: “It is an ideal site in the city centre and close to the bus and train stations plus the major road system in and out of town.

“We hope that once the centre is up and running it will signal the beginning of the end of this horrible period and we can all start to get to the new normal which we are all looking forward to.

“We would like to thank everyone for their patience and for putting up with any inconvenience caused by the loss of the car park for a while.”
