A MAN who died in a crash at a Drighlington roundabout has been named by police.

James Patrick Nicholson, 26, died at the scene on the A650 Drighlington Bypass, towards Leeds, after a silver Nissan Navara pick-up collided with a tree.

It was the only vehicle involved in the crash at around 9.05pm on Tuesday, December 22.

The driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and is currently in hospital, while two other passengers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Major Collision Enquiry Team of West Yorkshire Police are continuing to appeal for information as enquiries remain ongoing into the collision.

Sergeant Mick Kilburn of West Yorkshire Police Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “Enquiries into this fatal collision are continuing and I am appealing for witnesses and for anyone who may have dashcam, CCTV or phone footage of what took place to come forwards.

“Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team via 101 quoting log number 1588 of 22nd December.”
