THERE has been just one Christmas baby born at Airedale Hospital so far.

Angie Fairclough, the labour ward co-ordinator, said a little girl was born at 9.10am this morning, making her Airedale's first Christmas Day baby.

Speaking to the Telegraph & Argus, Angie said: "We've had a lovely morning so far.

"All the managers have been round, the medical doctors have been round to wish us a happy Christmas, Brendan Brown [the trust's chief executive], a matron giving out gifts for us. The trust have provided us with breakfast.

"We've got a few ladies coming in and out but just one lady that had a baby at nine o clock."
