Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Saturday announced major changes to Christmas plans affecting thousands of families across Bradford.

The five day loosening on restrictions was slashed to just one day - Christmas Day - in a huge blow to people's plans for the festive period.

Mr Johnson has also asked the whole nation to "stay local" and consider if travel is necessary.

In their online comments following the announcement, T&A were mainly accepting of the changes, but rejected the idea that Christmas has been 'cancelled'.

Sara Hardman said on Facebook: "It is not cancelled. No-one needs to be on their own this Christmas as they can form a support bubble with another household. Even in Tier 4. A small Christmas with your household family is still Christmas."

Pam Smith commented: "People are overreacting - you can still do Christmas but just within ur own family, for the 1 day, just be sensible this year so u can enjoy next year with all ur loved ones."

Yesterday, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has called on the Prime Minister to apologise to the British public for his handling of the Christmas Covid-19 restrictions.

So how are you planning to spend Christmas this week? Have your festive plans been scuppered?

Will you be sticking to the new rules or sticking to your previous plans?
