THE areas in Bradford with the best and worst Covid-19 infection rates can be revealed using the latest figures on positive cases in the district.

The infection rate across the district has been falling steadily during the latest month-long national lockdown, as the strict rules on mixing and businesses helped to bring the virus under control.

In the latest figures, which cover the seven days to November 29, the infection rate for the district was 240.7, which is a considerable fall from the previous seven day period when it was 364. However, the figure is still considerably higher than the national average of 153.5.

The areas with the highest infection rates were focused around the north-east area of inner city Bradford, while the areas with the lowest rates were in more rural areas.

The figures cover Middle Super Output Areas (MSOA), a way of breaking down statistics to a hyper-local level, based on areas of around 7,200 people.

Some share names with Council wards, but should not be viewed as representing the eponymous ward.

  1. Toller Lane & Infirmary - 478
  2. Frizinghall & Heaton Grove - 473.7
  3. Heaton Highgate - 462.3
  4. Manningham & Lister Park - 437.7
