A SON who stands accused of murdering his own father earlier this week has made his first appearance in court.
Phillip Badwal, 24, appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court this morning charged with murdering his father, 59-year-old Santokh 'Charlie' Singh.
Badwal, of Airedale Road, Undercliffe, appeared in the dock during the brief hearing and is due to next be before the courts tomorrow at Bradford Crown Court.
He has been charged with murder after Mr Singh was found with significant head injuries at an address in Airedale Road on the morning of Monday, November 30.
Police had been called to the property following reports an assault had taken place, and Mr Singh was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tributes have been paid to Mr Singh, who was labelled the 'King of Otley Road', from family and friends following his death.
