A MAN who was selling his £500,000 house in West Yorkshire through an online raffle says he may try again after it did not sell enough tickets.

Den Goodridge, 43, has put his house up for sale in this unusual way after seeing a previous sale fall through due to the pandemic.

The Victorian house, which is in Huddersfield, has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a games room and a fully-stocked wine cellar featuring 300 bottles which Mr Goodridge says he will leave behind for the raffle prize winner.

A total of 500,000 raffle tickets were made available at £2 per ticket.

The raffle only sold 112,000 tickets, but draw was still made but the house could not be the prize as not enough tickets had been sold.

A cash prize of £168,500 was given to the winner, who was drawn at random. Mr Goodridge added raffall.com, who ran the competition, also received some of the proceeds of the ticket sales.

Mr Goodridge, who says he did not receive any money from the venture, said: “She was over the moon with the win. She told me it has changed her life forever, she has paid off all her debt and bought the council house that she has been renting for years.

“I am so glad it was won by her and that it has changed her life.

“I got nothing, which is a real shame as I had to spend lots of money on marketing."

“I may try again next year, as with the right marketing and time limits it can work."
