FAST food chain Subway is trialling a new epic sandwich which it says will be perfect for Christmas gatherings of three households - a six-foot long pigs-in-blankets sub.
The huge sandwich is the largest festive sandwich on the high street and Subway say it will feed up to three households, who will be able to meet up over the five day festive period in the 'Christmas bubble'.
Subway says it could alternatively be an office Christmas lunch for those people unable to work from home.
The sub features 36 pigs-in-blankets, 64 slices of cheese, 24 slices of red onion, 96 slices of tomato and 96 slices of mixed peppers, all laid on a bed of spinach in a plaited roll of the new crusty tiger bread and served with Subway's south-west sauce.
For solitary eaters the sandwich is alos available in six-inch or footlong size, and Subway is also stocking special edition chocolate orange cookies and mince pie cookies.
The six foot sandwich will be trialled in selected stores in England and Northern Ireland from Wednesday, December 9.
