THIS was the scene outside Primark in the Metrocentre last night as the store stayed open throughout the night.
Thousands of shoppers could be seen queuing both, indoors and outdoors at the Gateshead shopping centre at around 9.30pm on Wednesday.
The enormous queue spilled into the Yellow Mall car park as shoppers reported waiting hours to get their chance to look around.

Lorraine Walker captured the almost mile-long queue - she said: "I saw the queue and it was the craziest night in four years."

Last week, Primark named Metrocentre among 11 stores across the UK that would be staying open for a 24 hour stint.

They made the announcement to coincide with the reopening of all non-essential stores in England following the four-week lockdown.
In a statement previously Paul Marchant, Chief Executive of Primark, said: “We are delighted to re-open our stores in England on 2 December, with longer shopping hours to give our customers more time to safely do their festive shopping.
“We have everything this season that our customers expect from Primark, including our famous Christmas jumpers, festive pyjamas and much, much more.
“All of our extensive safety measures remain in place to help ensure shopping at Primark is an enjoyable, safe experience for everyone.”
