POLICE who descended upon a residential street in West Bowling have revealed it was a response to reports of a domestic incident.

West Yorkshire Police arrived at Martlett Drive at 2.38pm with footage on social media showing the road blocked off by 10 police cars and vans.

Many residents can be seen stood outside their homes and unable to get out of the immediate area due to the block.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including assaulting a police officer.

He remains in custody at this time.

Enquiries are ongoing, West Yorkshire Police.

"There's coppers all the way up there man," said one witness who published a video online. "West Bowling on fire," he added.
