A car that failed to stop for police in a village near Otley was later involved in a three-vehicle crash.

A red Fiat Panda failed to stop for officers in Bramhope.

It then travelled along Otley Road and was involved in a collision near the junction with Farrar Lane, in Adel, Leeds.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

The smash, which involved a Volkswagen Tiguan and Ford Transit Van, happened shortly before 5pm on Monday.

The driver of the Fiat Panda was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The passenger suffered minor injuries and has since been released from hospital. The occupants of the other vehicles did not require hospital treatment.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the vehicles prior to the collision to come forward.

Anyone with dash cam footage of the incident is asked to contact police.
