A MAJOR road was forced to close this afternoon due to a level crossing failure.
Skipton Road (A6068) was shut between the A629 and Keighley Road due to an issue with the railway crossing on the route.
It was first reported at around 1.27pm.
The level crossing is near the road's junction with Hardings Lane, in the Cross Hills area.
Traffic coped well until the issue was resolved and the road reopened at around 4.44pm.
