A TAKE AWAY that was built without planning permission has been described as "completely alien" to the mill buildings surrounding it.
Bradford Council has this week refused a retrospective planning application for a take away building that was built as an attachment to the Gatehouse building of Greenhill Mills, on Florence Street and off Leeds Road.
It was completed in May 2019 without planning permission, which led to the enforcement notice being issued in October, demanding the structure be demolished.

Officers have now decided to refuse the application,
Plans are refused over concerns of 'over concentration' of takeaways in Great Horton
They said: "The proposed extension is constructed in a timber frame under a steel sheet roof.
"The frontage has solid galvanised security shutters with projecting shutter boxes.
"It is a completely alien feature alongside the stone built mill buildings in the vicinity of the site.
"The proposal causes significant harm to visual amenity."
They also said the plans went against a planning policy that prevents new take aways from opening within 400 metres of a school, park or leisure facility.
And a lack of information on opening hours was listed as another reason the application was refused.
