A DRIVER on a motorway had attached false plates with masking tape as their van had no insurance, tax or MOT.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Unit first became suspicious yesterday after spotting a white Ford Transit van, on the westbound carriageway of the M62, near junction 24 (Ainley Top), which had masking tape around both its number plates.
Police pulled the vehicle over to conduct some checks.
They discovered the van was in fact using false plates.
The driver then revealed the reason why.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Driver admitted to putting plates from their other van on, as had no insurance, tax or MOT."
Officers seized the van and reported the driver, as a result.
