BRADFORD indie/folk four-piece Mookie + The Bab is releasing the latest in a series of live singles.
The band, which formed in late 2019, were preparing to start touring and releasing music when the pandemic hit. Rather than heading into the recording studio as planned, Mookie + The Bab have been releasing singles from songs they filmed live in the Gin Bar at Bradford’s Sunbridge Wells before the pandemic.
In the summer lead singers Marc and Abi Otway hit the road for a busking tour in Cambridge, Salisbury, Cornwall, Bristol and Bath.
Now the band is to release its next live single, Shoes, which started with a writing session between Abi and Marc and led them forming a band with their friends, drummer Conor Mag and bass player Will Stock. “We held onto this release for winter, as we knew people would need something upbeat to lift their spirits," said Abi, who also filmed scenes for Coronation Street this year, appearing as Adam Barlow's love interest, Naomi.
Shoes will be available on digital platforms from November 30.
