A NEW website has been launched to help people struggling with access to food.

Find Food in Bradford has been launched by the Feeding Bradford and Keighley food networ and will help members of the public and organisations identify where to go for food help in times of crisis.

The website also includes information for people wanting to offer help by either donating food or volunteering their time to assist at a food bank

The website can be visited at www.bradfordfoodbanks.org.uk

As well as food provision, such as emergency food parcels, the new website includes sections on low cost food markets and free crisis meals for the homeless.

There is also information about how to get help if you are struggling to get to a supermarket because you are isolating.  The website will continue to be developed so other organisation are invited to come forward with other food related support

Cathy Henwood, of the community development charity Wellsprings Together, co-ordinates the Feeding Bradford and Keighley network.

She said: “It is the first time that all this information is in one place, which will make it so much easier for people who need support. With more and more individuals and families struggle to feed themselves, this essential information needs to be made accessible”.

Cathy added: “Our thanks go to Inn Churches for developing the website and also to different food banks for working together to agree a shared way forward.  It brings us a step closer to Feeding Bradford and Keighley’s vision of ensuring that no one in Bradford district should ever go without food.”

Juli Thompson, CEO of Inn Churches, said: “Inn Churches is pleased to have developed this new website being launched by the Feeding Bradford and Keighley Network. We have been getting many calls from people who have found themselves in crisis but unsure of where to go for support.

"In hosting a lot of the food related projects in one place we hope that people will be able to access help quickly and easily. The story behind the website is a vast community of people offering hope and dignity to those in crisis.”

If food banks, low cost food-stalls or groups would like to provide information about services not on the website or updates they can email: cathy.henwood@wellspringstogether.org.uk
