CONONLEY actor Luke Bayer is appearing in new musical Fiver at the Southwark Playhouse in London.

Luke, who played Jamie in the West End hit ‘Everyone’s Talking About Jamie’ and in 2007 appeared on television’s The X Factor, said Fiver was being live streamed, because of the coronavirus, so people could enjoy it from the comfort of their homes.

“It’s a brilliant brand new British musical, had a sold out run last Summer in London and the fans on social media asked for a revival, so the producers and writers decided to bring it back but because of coronavirus online.

Fiver was nominated last year for a WhatsOnStage Award and Luke won an award for Best Performer in an Off West End Show.

The musical, by Alex James Ellison and Tom Lees, follows the story of a humble five pound note as it passes through the hands and pockets of people in London.

A former pupil of South Craven School, Luke, now 28, took part in amateur musicals as a child including with Ilkley’s Upstagers, the Glusburn Institute of Performing Arts, and Skipton’s Little SAODS.

In 2007, at the age of 15, he competed in The X Factor, getting through to the live heats. Luke trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, graduating in 2015 with a BA Honours in Musical Theatre.
