CHRIS Kamara says Diego Maradona was the best player of his generation as he recalled meeting him at a World Cup.
The World Cup winner, who turned 60 last month, died after suffering a cardiac arrest at home in Tigre. He had successful surgery on a blood clot earlier this month.
Maradona is famous for his ‘Hand of God’ goal against England in the 1986 World Cup quarter finals.
Former Bradford City manager-turned-pundit Kamara paid tribute to the footballing great, as he remembered meeting Maradona in South Africa before a 2010 World Cup clash between Germany and Argentina.
Kamara said: “I met him in Cape Town in 2010 before the quarter-final, Argentina v Germany, just a shake of the hand.
“Pele, Maradona, Best all the best of their generation.”
