A FAMILY-run firm in Bradford is celebrating the success of its new machine, which has received four orders in just six weeks.

The team at Bar Graphic Machinery, which designs and produces finishing equipment for label and packaging manufacturers, is delighted with the interest in the new Digiflex.

All of the machines have been ordered with individual configurations, such is the flexibility of the product.

The modular design enables customers to set the specifications of the machine to their exact requirements - and means it is also future proof for later adaptations if required.

BGM, run by husband and wife team Bill and Annemarie Rhodes, are also now searching for new, larger premises, after moving to their current home off Wapping Road in the city, six years ago.

Managing director, Mrs Rhodes said: "We are truly delighted with the amount of interest our machines are generating and this includes our new machine the Digiflex. The orders are coming in thick and fast from across UK, Europe and further afield.

“When Covid started like many other businesses we had to immediately adapt to the situation and this included adapting our business model and staff."

She also said that “our staff have gone the extra mile to adapt to this situation and great credit goes to them".

“Although we had machines ready to be dispatched, some of our customers plans were put on hold due to Covid which included building work to be finished. In true Bar Graphic Machinery style we adapted to their requirements and needs doing everything possible to help them.”

The boost in Covid-related products, such as hand sanitisers, as well as an increased spend on home beauty, has been one of the reasons behind the company’s recent growth, with their customers providing the labelling for such products.

BGM is recognised as a market leader within the label manufacturing and packaging industry, and has built a reputations for excellence, reliability and performance. They also offer a three-year guarantee on all in-house manufactured parts.

The company’s range of product’s includes label finishing equipment, plain label converting machines, die cutting finishing machinery and flexible packing filmic rewinders.

Some of the machinery can also be adapted to produce products such as face shields and number plates.

The company has also recently begun recruiting for three new roles due to its expansion - in sales, a design engineer and a mechanical fitter.
