A SKIPTON yoghurt farmer is donating a percentage of all sales across the UK to support tree planting in the Yorkshire Dales.

Hesper Farm - the first in Britain to make skyr yoghurt - is turning its back on Black Friday by getting involved with Green Friday instead.

They will donate a percentage of their profits to the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.

Sam Moorhouse, at Hesper said: "We hope people get a great deal if they're looking for one on Black Friday but we like to do things differently here at Hesper so we'll be doing Green Friday this week! We will donate 5 percent of all our skyr sales profit across the UK to the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.

"Earlier this year, we worked with the trust to plant 300 trees here at the farm and we were really impressed with their approach. Farming sustainably for the future is a huge part of our ethos and we're looking forward to supporting the charity again."

It follows on from Giving Back Friday last year where the dairy donated to the Magic Breakfast charity.
