A NUMBER of people are reportedly having issues when using Facebook Messenger today.

The problem relates to people sending pictures to friends and contacts when using the app.

One individual who the T&A spoke to said they tried to send an image to a group chat, but it wouldn't go through.

The photo appeared in the chat for him, but next to it was a red exclamation mark, explaining the image had failed to send.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

He said: "I tried to send pictures of both my 2012 throwback Spotify playlist and my Costa Christmas Latte - both important updates for my friends - but neither would send.

"Strangely though, I’ve been able to send messages and GIFs fine.

"I’ve also found that I get a notification every time I get sent a message, but not the actual content of the message.

"This has never happened before today either.”

This person was using an iPhone SE 2nd Generation and has a software update waiting.

There have been more than 500 reports of an issue with the app in the past hour alone, according to technology outage tracker website, Downdetector.

There was a steady rise in reports from this morning, with 1,859 reports since 8.56am.

Some people have commented on the website, describing the same issue as the individual the T&A spoke to.
