THERE’S a buzz in the air about plans for a Keighley roundabout.
A suggestion by Airedale Beekeepers Association that the remodelled Hard Ings roundabout could be transformed into a haven for pollinators and wildlife has been given the green light.
Contractor Howard Civil Engineering was approached earlier this year and the association has since had an onsite meeting with Bradford Council, at which it was agreed in principle that the roundabout will be planted for pollinators next spring.
John Peet, for the association, said: “We are delighted that the council has given such positive feedback on our plan for a wildflower meadow and perennial planting for the central border.
“We are hoping that next year the roundabout could grow to be a really interesting and attractive feature for Keighley, as well as a valuable resource for the natural environment.”
