TWO young women had to be rescued from a car which had flipped onto its side and trapped them in a crash.
West Yorkshire Police received a call from a member of the public about a road traffic collision on Harrogate Road at around 9.54pm last night.
The crash was between the road's junction with Moorside Road and Leeds Road, just opposite Harrogate Road Fisheries.
A silver Toyota and a black Audi collided, which resulted in the latter overturning onto its side in the middle of the road.
Two women, aged 20 and 23, were trapped in the Audi, as a result.
A fire crew rushed to the scene to assist in removing the women from the car.
Police officers closed Harrogate Road, between Moorside Road and Tilwood Drive, while the situation was dealt with.
The women suffered minor injuries.
An onlooker said he heard the crash, but did not see it happen.
He claimed that the silver Toyota was parked up.
