Nationally, a further 326 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 37,796, NHS England says.

The patients were aged between 29 and 100 years old and all except six - who were aged between 50 and 82 - had known underlying health conditions.

The majority of the 326 deaths in England - 101 of them - were reported by hospitals in the North East & Yorkshire region, with Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust accounting for the largest bulk of those deaths, at 36.

The death figures for Leeds were the highest of any trust in the country today.
