A FURTHER two Covid-19 deaths have been recorded at the Bradford district's hospitals today.

The deaths, which both occurred at the Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, take the total number of hospital deaths in the district to 492.

Airedale has now seen 144 fatalities, while Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 346, and Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust has seen two.

Nationally, the hospital death toll has risen to 37,470 following a further 346 deaths recorded today in England.

Patients were aged between 35 and 102-years-old, and all except nine, who were aged between 54 and 99, had known underlying health conditions.

The Midlands saw the highest number of deaths with 96, followed by 89 in the North West and 71 in Yorkshire and the North East.

Elsewhere in West Yorkshire, Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust has now seen the most deaths with 491 after 23 in the past five days. Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has seen 489 fatalities, but has not seen a recorded death in the past six days, and Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust has seen 274 deaths.
