PEOPLE across Bradford are being urged to swap their work clothes tomorrow for their team's colours to raise money for the fight against cancer.

Football Shirt Friday takes place tomorrow, November 20, with people asked to put on their team's colours, share a selfie, and donate £5 to charity to raise awareness of the fight against bowel cancer.

Organised in partnership between the Bobby Moore Fund and Cancer Research UK, Football Shirt Friday is now into its eighth year.

English football's greatest ever captain, Bobby Moore tragically died aged just 51 from bowel cancer. It wasn't his first brush with the awful disease, having surgery for testicular cancer just two years before he captained England to World Cup glory in 1966.

Businesses across the district are being urged to get involved with the campaign, and with so many people currently working from home it's easier than ever to dig your favourite team's strip out of the wardrobe to raise money for the worthy cause.

Current England captain Harry Kane is backing the campaign.

The 27-year-old has plenty of memorable kits to choose from from throughout his career with Tottenham Hotspur and England, as well as from spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City and Leicester City.

The nation's captain said he will be wearing England’s 2018 top this Friday as there were “some good memories” in Russia, where he led England to the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup, and then added “hopefully they’ll be even better ones next year” when England compete in the delayed European Championship.

Donations can be made by visiting footballshirtfriday.org, and you can share your shirt selfies on social media with the hashtag #FootballShirtFriday.
