POLICE have issued an urgent appeal after a woman "in distress" was grabbed and pushed into a Range Rover late last night.

The woman was put into the car on Bradford Road, in the Bramley area, at around 9.25pm yesterday evening.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "During the incident a woman believed to be in distress was seen being pushed into a silver or grey coloured Range Rover."

The woman is described as being white.

Detective Inspector Richard Coulton of Leeds CID, said: “We are making urgent enquiries to trace the woman seen to check she is okay – I would urge anyone with information about what happened to get in contact.

“Likewise if you were involved in this incident please get in contact.”
