A SHIPLEY-based barbers has proved a cut above the rest by temporarily changing its name to raise funds for charity.

Lambert & Co, or “Lambert & Mo” for the month of November, have teamed up with Salt Beer Factory in support of Movember.

Movember is an annual event that encourages men, or Mo Bros, to grow moustaches during November to raise awareness of men’s health issues. After the Bingley Road barber shop opened in September, Lambert & Co approached Salt Beer Factory to get involved in this year’s campaign with an aim to support the men’s charities and create a supportive community in the Bradford area.

To mix things up and bring additional awareness, both companies have teamed up with Bradford-based design agencies Crabtree Creative and Phunk Creative to change the barber’s logo to Lambert & Mo.

The designers have also created “Mo” branded t-shirts for Movember. As well as encouraging customers to get involved in shaving their beards, the T-shirts provide another fun way to take part, with all proceeds being donated to Movember charities.

Alex Lambert, owner and barber at Lambert & Co, said “After a year that has been tough in many ways, we decided it was more important than ever to raise awareness and money for charities that will help make a difference to men’s lives.

“Going into a second lockdown two months after opening and only a few days into Movember wasn’t what we had planned.

“Despite this, we’ve been flexible and taken the campaign online, between us and Salt Beer Factory we’ve got a great community and it’s been great to see people supporting the cause and buying the T-shirts.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

“We’re still running a fun competition for the “best Mo” and we’ve made it clear to our customers that even though we are shut the team is available for a chat any time.”

All donations and T-shirt sales go to Movember charities which support men’s mental health, suicide prevention, and prostate and testicular cancer.
