POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner was seriously injured after being hit by a car last night.
The 70-year-old man was hit by a car at around 5.30pm on Friday and suffered serious injuries, and is in hospital in a stable condition.
The collision, with a silver Toyota Corolla, happened in Overthorpe Road at the junction with Slaithwaite Road, Dewsbury.
The car was turning right onto Overthorpe Road when the collision happened.
Police closed the road while enquiries took place, and reopened in the early hours of today.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is asked to call police on 101, quoting log number 1350 of Friday, November 13.
