LASTEST NEWS: WATCH: Shocking CCTV shows moment butchers is ram-raided - suspect shouts 'wrong one'

A BRADFORD butchers has launched an appeal for help from the public after its store was severely damaged overnight by a ram-raid.

Silsden Butchers & Dawn's Bargain Meat Packs, in Thackley Court, Shipley, was destroyed last night, with the premises left in a mess, after a car ploughed into the store.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said officers were called to a ram-raid burglary at the butchers at around 8.29pm.

A grey Mazda was driven into the front of the shop, through its large unit delivery door, just after the driver had smashed into a separate delivery door next door, which belongs to Adaptive Control Solutions, Automation Specialists.

The audio on CCTV footage showing the ram-raid picked up on something one of the suspects shouted to the driver, just after the first attempt.

They said: "Wrong one".

The police spokesperson said money and computer equipment were stolen from the premises.

But Dawn Brightwell, who owns the premises and runs the business, maintains that the store was targeted to stop her from trading.

This unique butchers, which was initially born out of developing a following on social media, posted an appeal on its Facebook page, which has more than 21,000 followers.

Mrs Brightwell published the post at 10.37pm on Wednesday alongside photos of the destruction.

It said: "Reward for anyone who lets us know who has done this to me.

"Please help me, my friends."

The butchers is based in an industrial unit - which the online business calls its "butchery hub" - where meat packs and joints are prepared for delivery or collection, with people ordering on the company's website or over the phone.

Pictures shared by the butchers shows extensive damage to all parts of the premises.

The unit can be accessed by a normal walk-in door and a large, red, metal-panelled delivery door.

This delivery door was destroyed, with the panels bent out of shape and strewn across the store.

A meat counter was smashed, with glass littered across the floor, and produce - such as eggs - was damaged, as well as what looks to be a coffee machine.

One photo also shows a large amount of coins spread across the butchers.

The roof of the premises was also damaged, with a number of panels torn out of place from where the metal-panelled door was seemingly impacted in some way.

Signs advertising deals looked to have been flung around store too.

It is a scene of utter chaos.

The T&A spoke briefly to the owner of the butchers just before midnight.

They confirmed the incident had been reported to West Yorkshire Police and one of the photos showed a police vehicle at the scene, in the background.

West Yorkshire Police has been contacted by the T&A.

Someone set-up a GoFundMe page at around 12.37am this morning, to try help the butchers.

The campaign, started by Hannah Mead, is aiming to raise £200.

The description states: "I am disgusted to see what's happened to this butchers shop.

"In a time when everyone should be pulling together!

"Dawns Bargain Meat Packs offer some lovely meats, delivered all over (not just locally, she delivers all over)."

It adds: "Hopefully we can raise a few quid to help in this awful situation.

"It is supposed to be coming up to the season to be jolly."

Officers found the Mazda later and seized it.
