OVER 200 rough sleepers in Bradford have found accommodation since the start of the Covid 19 pandemic.
A meeting of Bradford Council’s Executive yesterday heard that the Government funded “Everyone In” scheme had helped get 207 people off the District’s streets. Of these 98 have so far been moved on to settled accommodation.
The scheme funds Councils to provide the homeless with temporary accommodation such as a room in a B&B.
It was a way of protecting rough sleepers from the spread of Coronavirus.

Council’s then work with the people in temporary accommodation to find a more permanent home.
Council Leader Susan Hinchcliffe said: “Getting 207 people off the street is wonderful and shows what can be done when we put our mind to it. Let’s keep that up, there is really no reason we should have people rough sleeping. We should have zero tolerance to it so everyone can have the quality of life people would expect.”
