THE number of Covid-19 deaths in the Bradford district's hospitals has hit 450 after three further deaths were reported today.

Two deaths were reported at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and one was seen at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, taking the total to 450.

Bradford Teaching Hospitals has now seen 319 deaths, with 129 recorded at Airedale and Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust has seen two.

These deaths are among the 167 new Covid-19 deaths reported from hospitals across England, taking the total to 34,663.

Patients were aged between 23 and 97 years old, and all but five, who were aged between 49 and 77, had known underlying health conditions.

Yorkshire and the North East saw the most - 47 -deaths, following by the Midlands with 45 and the North West with 36.

Elsewhere in West Yorkshire, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has now recorded 455 deaths, Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust has seen 412, and Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 240 fatalities.
