POLICE have issued a further statement after a man was arrested in Bradford city centre yesterday. 

Officers were called to the scene at 12.45pm yesterday, to reports of an assault in Centenary Square Bradford.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said a male suspect was "outside filming and intimidating members of the public on his mobile phone".

The spokesperson added: "Two females approached the man and there was an altercation between them as one of the women attempted to stop him filming.

"The suspect then assaulted the women and kicked one of them in the stomach.

"Officers were swiftly deployed to the scene, he resisted arrest and officers restrained and arrested him.

"The 49-year-old man from Bradford was taken into custody. Enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any further information is asked to contact the police via 101 quoting crime reference number 13200540053."
