MANCHESTER United striker Mason Greenwood dedicated his first Champions League goal to a teen footballer who has died.

Former Manchester City youth-team player Jeremy Wisten, who has died at the age of 17, played for City's elite youth squads after joining in 2016.

Wibsey-born Greenwood scored in United's group stage clash against Leipzig last night in a 5-0 victory at Old Trafford.

Greenwood’s poignant goal celebration saw him look to the heavens and he dedicated the goal to Wisten on social media after the game.

Greenwood has been handed the iconic number 11 shirt at United, following in the footsteps of a club great.

It was reward for a breakout season for the Premier League giants, which saw him score 17 goals for the club.

He wore the club’s number 26 last season, which earned him a senior England call-up.
