SIR - The MP for Shipley, Philip Davies, is expressing a perfectly valid point when questioning whether the state should be responsible in providing free meals for children ( T&A, October 26).
The feigned outrage which has followed, a nauseating example of virtue signalling, was so predictable.
Mr Davies is a conscientious MP although not his constituent have always found him helpful.
