TWO Bradford sisters swam the length of the English Channel and back at a Cottingley pool to raise over £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Joanne Robinson and Lois Partington, both from Bingley, went to the Nuffield Health Cottingley Fitness and Wellbeing Gym to complete the Swim It for Macmillan challenge, a whopping 67,600 metres.
"We swam 2,704 lengths in 18 days," said Joanne. "It was busy, trying fit in work and kids around it. We sometimes had to go two of three times a day or have marathon swims on Saturday."
She said it was a great relief to complete the challenge, as they were constantly worried about going into Tier 3 restrictions.
