A BRADFORD-based firm has started a scheme to find the UK’s local lockdown heroes.

Safestyle UK wants to recognise friendly faces who have shown up at people’s doors to offer them support during the pandemic.

How you can get involved

If you’d like to nominate a special someone who has helped lift your spirits whilst being at home - no matter how big or small these kind gestures have been - Safestyle would love to hear these stories and say a big thank you on your behalf.

As part of the competition, Safestyle will be selecting three submissions and surprising each of these local lockdown heroes with a very well deserved treat - a £250 voucher from one of the following: Treatwell, Red Letter Days or Love2shop.

To nominate someone, simply head to the Safestyle competition page, enter your details and explain who you’d like to put forward and how they lifted your spirits - either from your door or through your window (plus, there’s an option to upload a supporting photo if you have one too). The deadline for entries is November 30.

Safestyle will also be donating £2,500 to CALM in order to show its appreciation for the important work they do and raise awareness for those struggling during this difficult time.

Martin Troughton, head of marketing at Safestyle, said: “As we head into more localised lockdowns over the winter months, it's as important as ever to keep community spirit alive and check in on those around us, offering assistance or a quick conversation, safely, where we can.

“That’s why we’re thrilled to be working with a charity like CALM, who do amazing work for those in need of support.”
