PEOPLE living on a busy Bradford route have raised concern about speeding on the road.

Councillor David Green (Lab, Wibsey) said a number of residents had been in touch about the problem on Moor Avenue.

It came after a hit and run crash last Saturday evening.

West Yorkshire Police were called at 6.09pm to reports of a crash on the heavily-used route between Wibsey and Great Horton.

The collision was between two cars, and according to police, one of the drivers fled from the scene and the other male driver suffered a serious head injury.

The male in his 20s was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

Cllr Green said: "I contacted our Highways Department to find out what information we had on traffic speed in the area and was told that we did not have up to date traffic data for Moore Avenue so I have asked that the road be included in the next tranche of surveys so that we can accurate information about speeds and volumes.

"Once we have this information I, and other councillors from Wibsey and Great Horton  will meet with officers to see what the most effective measures are to deal with the problem."

Anyone who witnessed the collision, has any dashcam footage, or any further information is asked to contact the police via 101 quoting log number 1491 on October 17.
