FORENSICS officers combed through a building yesterday evening as part of a shooting investigation in Bradford.

A member of the public, who wished to remain anonymous, spotted a forensics team, of more than six people, entering a property on Ilbert Avenue, in Bierley, at around 7pm last night.

They said that a police car had been parked outside the address all day on Wednesday and then a forensic van turned up that evening.

Another member of the public claimed six forensic officers left the building with a "box" and several evidence bags, while a number of others remained inside.

They added that police officers were checking bins and gardens in the local area too.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson confirmed the searches were related to a shooting that happened in a separate Bierley street on Tuesday morning.

They said: "Police were conducting searches at a property in connection with the firearms discharge on Coleshill Way earlier this week.

"Enquiries remain ongoing."

Officers were called to Coleshill Way on Tuesday to reports of criminal damage to the window of a house.

Police attended and established the damage was consistent with bullet holes.

Two men, aged 36 and 44, and both from Bradford, were arrested by police on Tuesday evening in relation to the shooting.
