Who’s Peter Andre’s ‘Mysterious Girl’? It was 104-year-old great-grandmother Ivy Bean, his biggest fan, who met her pop idol at an album signing at Asda at Owlcotes Shopping Centre, Pudsey, in October 2009.

Ivy contacted the T&A to ask if we’d arrange for her to meet Peter, and we did just that. She arrived with two carers from Hillside Manor Residential Home in Barkerend and had a private meeting with the star.

Ivy, thought to be the UK’s oldest user of Twitter, said she couldn’t wait to tweet her news. Peter said to her: “Someone told me on Twitter all about you. You’ve got 48,000 followers - and an extra one that’s me. You’re awesome. It’s made my day meeting you.”

Sadly, Ivy died in 2010. Heartbroken Peter called days before her death and staff at Hillside Manor residential home in Barkerend said when Ivy heard the singer’s voice she opened her eyes and “gave a little smile for the first time in 24 hours”. Peter ’s song Unconditional was played at her funeral.

Pat Wright, care manager at Hillside Manor, told the T&A that Peter was “in awe of the wise old woman she was”.

“They had a genuine friendship," she added. "Ivy was the bees knees, although she never really grasped why thousands of people all over the world were so keen to follow her.”

Ivy took to Facebook aged 101 and later went onto Twitter too, amassing over 54,000 followers. When she died tributes were tweeted from the likes of Stephen Fry and Girls Aloud.
