SIR - Bob Watson rightly condemns the possible use of positive discrimination by Bradford Council in its recruitment drive "removing barriers" (T&A letters October 17). I wonder how often this happens in other countries.

I wonder if the Bangladesh parliament does a lot of soul searching into how representative they are of their minority populations. I do know there is no diversity and inclusion in Saudi Arabia. They don't even take in refugees from neighbouring poor countries even though they are a very rich country.

Why don't advocates of diversity here question this and what happens in other countries? Not just extreme ones like China but even the rest of Europe where immigrant populations have less freedom than here. Why are the US and UK slaves to this representative obsession when nowhere else seems to care much and gets away with it?
