DESPITE, not every team playing, there were certainly plenty of talking points produced from this weekend's Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven & District League Premier Division action.

Skipton Town enjoyed their maiden victory of the season and poured more misery on the winless Carlton Sports Club in a action-packed contest.

Three hat tricks were scored in total as Town fought their way to a tight 7-5 scoreline in their favour.

Kyun Ellison and Miles Thompson each bagged a trio for the hosts while Robert Bradley was hard done by as his three-goal haul amounted to nothing.

Grassington United made it five out of five to continue their excellent start to the season thanks to a Jack Schindler's brace in a 2-1 win over Crosshills.

Schindler opened the scoring for the home side inside half an hour before the visitors equalised in the second half through their goalkeeper.

Crosshills were awarded a free-kick just outside their own area and Dan Thorpe optimistically went for goal. United's keeper flapped at the long-ranged effort and it went through his hands.

Ten minutes later, Schindler scored his second of the afternoon from the penalty spot after Billy Bailey tripped Jamie Poulter.

Player-manager James Gill then squandered an easy chance to earn Crosshills a point with the last kick of the game. Bailey put it on a plate for him but he headed over from two yards out.

James Wilson strike was enough to separate Silsden Whitestar and Settle United. Despite, the defeat Settle still remain above the victors in third on goals scored.

In Division Two, Cowling grabbed their first win of the 2020/21 campaign in convincing fashion.

A couple of braces from Luke Barker and George Sellers earned the away time a stunning 5-1 victory over Settle United reserves.

Grassington United reserves went one better at Addingham. James Morgan (2), Danny Pow, Sam Webster, Christian Moon and Elliot Briggs were all on the scoresheet in the 6-1 drumming.

Six teams got out in Division Two as Earby Town and Baildon Trinity Athletic remain joint-top after entertaining draws.

Jake Boardman netted a double to deny Town reaching the summit as their clash at Barlick Wanderers finished 4-4.

Substitutes Reece Southgate and Scott Russell were both on target for Baildon and Sutton in their 3-3 draw.

Skipton Town reserves stay rooted at the bottom thanks to a 6-2 defeat at the hands of Salts 3rds Craven.

A couple from Liam Coates was the only positive for Town who have lost their three opening games.

There was a full round of fixtures played in Division Three where Hellifield Sports continued their faultless start.

Two goals from William Beresford edged Sports past Sutton reserves 2-1.

Otley Town A Team are still managing to keep with Hellifield as they made it four wins out of four with a 2-1 win at Cowling reserves.

A James Nelson hat-trick failed to get Cononley Sports Club seconds over the line in their 4-4 draw with Settle United thirds.

FC Sporting Keighley reserves beat Addingham reserves 3-1, while Salts 4ths Craven bagged four against Crosshills reserves.
